Friday 8 March 2024Shakespeare Schools FestivalOn Thursday 7th March Chadwell Heath Academy performed alongside two other local schools at the Kenneth More Theatre in Ilford as part of the Shakespeare Schools Festival, the world’s largest youth drama festival.

Thursday 8 December 2022Model United Nations at Oxford UniversityAt the beginning of December eleven Year 13 students spent the weekend at Oxford University participating in Model United Nations conference. The event is run by an experienced team at the university and attracts schools from all over the world; from as far as America, India and all across Europe.
Thursday 8 December 2022Model United Nations ConferenceAt the beginning of December, 16 Year 11 students and 1 Year 10 student attended the Model United Nations conference at Mulberry Academy for Girls. The event was supported by Global Classrooms USA and a number of schools from across London were invited to participate.
Thursday 24 November 2022First Aid workshopOn Monday 14th November Year 10 students attended a First Aid workshop run by final year medical students from Kings College London (KCL). Pupils used professional resuscitation dummies to practice CPR and recovery position on. They also learnt how to assist a person who is choking too.

Friday 18 November 2022A Level Politics visit ParliamentA level Politics students visited Parliament this week and it was fortunate that their visit coincided with the Chancellor's Autumn Statement. The chamber was really busy, and students were able to watch the Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition debating.

Friday 15 July 2022NBA Junior CompetitionOn Friday 24th June both our Year 8 boys and girls were in the final 4 of the NBA junior competition. This is something that has never happened before! Our pupils had a fantastic day where they played two fixtures and a shootout contest. The Boys team , represented the Milwaukee Bucks, finished in 4th place which is quite an achievement.

Friday 18 March 2022Football ActivatorsBarclays GAME ON has been developed by the Youth Sport Trust (YST) in partnership with England Football. Barclays GAME ON is designed to engage girls in curriculum physical education through a life skills approach, using football as the vehicle.

Friday 12 November 2021Remembrance DayThe school marked Remembrance Day on the 11th of November. Head of Music, Mr Chapman, was accompanied by Ryan Baker-Morgan (Year 10), in sounding The Last Post at 11am. Pupils throughout the school observed a two minute silence in remembrance of those who have lost their lives in war.
Friday 22 October 2021Visit from Sam Tarry MPOn Wednesday 13th October, Ilford South MP, Mr Sam Tarry visited our Year 12 and 13 Government and Politics students. Mr Tarry spoke about what drove him to a career in politics, how he feels the government should have handled the pandemic differently and what is next for Ilford South. The pupils were left feeling inspired. There was an open Q&A at the end, where some fantastic questions were asked. These included; How he felt when challenging Rishi Sunak in the Houses of Parliament? If he would ever want to be PM? If it is tough to prioritise the views of his constituents over his own? And what is the toughest part of his job? It was a pleasure to host Mr Tarry, and our pupils gained an invaluable experience. We would like to thank Mr Tarry for joining us, and look forward to hosting him again.
Thursday 4 March 2021World Book Day 2021Today, Thursday 4 March, is World Book Day. To celebrate, staff at Chadwell Heath Academy have recorded a podcast featuring readings from some favourite books.
Thursday 17 December 2020Food Bank CollectionIn the run up to Christmas the whole school completed a collection for the local foodbank situated in Chadwell Heath. We collected over 300 items from Year Seven alone and total of 30 boxes were filled with much needed long life foos and toiletries. In addition pupils donated Christmas presents, decorations, and Christmas cards.
