Creative Studies technician

  • Commencing Salary SCALE 2 Points 3-4

    £20,352 to £20,659 per annum (dependent on experience)

  • We require a Creative Studies Technician to join our friendly and supportive Creative Studies department for 32.50 hours per week, 39 weeks per year;

    The successful candidate must have prior knowledge of at least one of the following areas Textiles, Photography (including digital/ analogue techniques), Ceramics (including the operation of a kiln) and a general overview of Artistic skills from painting and drawing to 3D techniques

    This position will involve working with pupils to support them in the classroom to obtain their best outcomes, therefore good communication skills are essential. 

    The role you will perform is varied and your flexibility therefore important.  The ability to work under pressure, together with a willingness to take on new challenges, will be required.

  • Hours: 8.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.  32.5 hours a week. Term Time 39 weeks per annum.

Media Technician

  • Required as soon as possible.

    Salary scale 2 point 3 to 4(£21,918 to £22,248) actual salary, dependant on experience.

    35 hours per week Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4pm (Term Time)

  • This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious person to join a highly successful department in an outstanding school with state-of-the-art facilities. The successful candidate will be skilled in the use of Media Software, Sound & Stage lighting and they will have an interest in film and film studies. They will be required to assist students and staff in their work in the department, and to provide technical support for school events.

    It is expected that the school will need to provide some training for the successful candidate to enable them to fulfil the expectations of the post. We are interested in developing the role over time, dependent upon the skills and interests of the post holder and the developing needs of the school.

    Key characteristics will be:

    • The ability to engage with and support young people and teachers in their work
    • To contribute to the wider life of the school
    • The ability to work flexibly, there will be a need to start later on some occasions in order to attend school functions
    • A willingness to undertake training
    • A strong knowledge of digital editing software such as Final Cut Pro X and photoshop
    • Competency in using macs and PCs
    • An ability to problem solve software issues as and when they occur
    • An ability to make resources and displays for the classroom
    • An ability to supervise students in practical assignments
    • An interest in film and filming techniques
    • A knowledge of photography using DSLR cameras

Learning Support Assistant

  • 30 hours per week (term time only) Hours 8.45 a.m. to 3.25 p.m. 30 hours a week term time only (39 weeks a year)

  • Salary: Scale 2 point 3 -4 of the APT & C scale £18,786 to £19,070 (dependant on experience)
  • We require a classroom assistant to work within the Inclusion Department, specifically pupils with SEN & EAL needs. You will be required to help pupils in the classroom to achieve.  Some experience of working in schools and ICT skills would be desirable, but not essential.  A good command of the English language is essential.
