Rewards and Recognition
At Chadwell Heath Academy, we believe that every success deserves to be celebrated. Whether it is excellent effort in lessons, demonstrating our values, outstanding attendance, or making a positive contribution to school life, we are committed to recognising and rewarding our students.
Students can earn House Points, receive positive phone calls home, be awarded Praise Postcards, and gain recognition through a range of academy awards. House Points contribute towards individual milestones, including Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum Awards, as well as the annual House Cup competition.
Throughout the year, students may also receive:
- Effort Certificates

- Department Awards
- Headteacher's Awards
- Invitations to the Headteacher's Breakfast
- Special recognition for outstanding achievement, leadership, attendance, and personal development
Our rewards programme helps to build confidence, encourage ambition, and celebrate the many ways students contribute to our academy community. We are proud of our culture where hard work, kindness, resilience, and success are recognised every day.
At Chadwell Heath Academy, we don't just celebrate achievement, we celebrate effort, growth, and becoming the very best version of yourself.
Student Leadership
The ‘Student Leadership Team’ (SLT) consists of Form Captains, House Captains, and Prefects. In Key Stage 3, forms elect their form captains (two per form), in Key Stage 4 Hours Captains are elected and Prefects in Year 11. To be elected, students in years 7-9 must perform a speech to their form class. The form tutor will provide feedback to the Head of Year, where there will be discussion about who will take on the role from each form. House Captains must also complete an application form, where they demonstrate how they would be a good student leader of our school ethos. Prefects must complete an application form, have a teacher reference and attend an interview with a member of Senior Leadership. All pupils are provided with a job description and must sign a contract agreement with their Head of Year. This always demonstrates that they must uphold the Chadwell and Respect values of our school, as well as fulfilling their duties to a good standard. Once elected the pupils form the Student Leadership Team who meeting every other week to bring to the table the student voice. They will also work to be role models, build bridges across year groups and become active citizens. There are various events in the school calendar which enables them to do this, and they will also have responsibility to take assemblies and communicate the pupil voice.
In addition, students can become:
- Eco Warriors
- Mental Health Ambassadors
- Sports Leaders
- Sports Ambassadors
- Library Monitors
- Teaching & Learning Ambassadors
- Subject Ambassadors
Finally, students can be elected as the Senior Student in the 6th Form.
