Year 8 Girls learn about STEM

On Monday 28th November 2019 we took eight Year 8 girls on a trip to the “Walkie Talkie” building in London to an event organised by a company called CGI. The aim of this event was to encourage our students to gain knowledge about the IT and technology sector and therefore consider it as a future career path.

During their sessions they learned more about STEM subjects and employability skills. Furthermore they were put into teams to compete in activities such as bridge engineering and a robot obstacle course.

We were extremely proud of our girls as they engaged extremely well in all the activities and therefore nearly won all of the challenges set.  In addition to that we were astonished by the views presented to us from the 14th floor of this iconic landmark.
