U13 Boys Handball Success
On Monday 2nd December Mr Jellett and Miss Knott took the U13 boys handball team to Issac Newton Academy who hosted an excellent tournament. There were 4 schools competing to progress through to the next round and represent Redbridge in the London Youth games.
In a round robin format which then led to the semi finals and final the boys didn't have the best start. Over powered by a very good Palmer Academy team and outdone by the Issac Neton team, it looked like it might be an early exit for the boys. However a win against Wanstead then sparked a comeback and meant the boys were on course for a semi final match up against Issac Newton.
After knowing how they played and who exploited them most the boys pulled off an excellent win 4-2 against the winners from previous years in this competition. The boys did excellent and a final now awaited them in the shape of Palmer Academy. The final was very aggressive and the boy fought superbly. Demonstrating some excellent tactical play and showing a fantastic understanding of the game the boys pulled off an excellent win 5-4 in a very closely contested match. The boys did extremely well to succeed in this competition and progress into the London youth games as Redbridge Champions.
