  • Friday 8 March 2024 Shakespeare Schools Festival On Thursday 7th March Chadwell Heath Academy performed alongside two other local schools at the Kenneth More Theatre in Ilford as part of the Shakespeare Schools Festival, the world’s largest youth drama festival.

  • Wednesday 12 July 2023 Football Activators Our Football Activators have been on an incredible journey since being selected to complete their Barclays GAME ON Leadership training in year 8 which uses football as the tool in secondary schools across England to develop and teach key life skills and demonstrate how those transferrable skills can be used outside of school in everyday life.

  • Tuesday 28 March 2023 Science Week 2023 As part of science week, Y7 attended a live show fabulous collection of counter-intuitive experiments involving exciting chemistry. Freezing fog, fire, flashes and bangs that pose the questions “What if...” "Why" and “What happens next”.
  • Monday 6 February 2023 Model United Nations Conference Over the weekend of the 4 & 5th of February a group of students from Year 8 to Year 12 went to the American School in London to take part in the 8th annual West London Model United Nations debate conference.
  • Wednesday 14 December 2022 Jack Petchey Awards Evening On Tuesday 13th December our Jack Petchey Achievement Award winners attending the Redbridge Schools celebration event at the Sir James Hawkey Hall in Woodford.
  • Thursday 8 December 2022 Model United Nations at Oxford University At the beginning of December eleven Year 13 students spent the weekend at Oxford University participating in Model United Nations conference. The event is run by an experienced team at the university and attracts schools from all over the world; from as far as America, India and all across Europe.
  • Thursday 8 December 2022 Model United Nations Conference At the beginning of December, 16 Year 11 students and 1 Year 10 student attended the Model United Nations conference at Mulberry Academy for Girls. The event was supported by Global Classrooms USA and a number of schools from across London were invited to participate.
  • Thursday 24 November 2022 First Aid workshop On Monday 14th November Year 10 students attended a First Aid workshop run by final year medical students from Kings College London (KCL). Pupils used professional resuscitation dummies to practice CPR and recovery position on. They also learnt how to assist a person who is choking too.
  • Monday 21 November 2022 Shakespeare Schools Festival On Tuesday 15th November pupils performed an abridged version of Shakespeare's 'Twelfth Night' at the Broadway Theatre in Barking as part of the Shakespeare Schools Festival.
  • Friday 18 November 2022 A Level Politics visit Parliament A level Politics students visited Parliament this week and it was fortunate that their visit coincided with the Chancellor's Autumn Statement. The chamber was really busy, and students were able to watch the Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition debating.

  • Friday 15 July 2022 NBA Junior Competition On Friday 24th June both our Year 8 boys and girls were in the final 4 of the NBA junior competition. This is something that has never happened before! Our pupils had a fantastic day where they played two fixtures and a shootout contest. The Boys team , represented the Milwaukee Bucks, finished in 4th place which is quite an achievement.
  • Friday 15 July 2022 British Basketball League finals On Sunday 15th of May pupils from all year groups had the chance to attend the British Basketball League finals at the O2 arena.
  • Sunday 27 March 2022 Jack Petchey Speak Out Regional Final On Tuesday 22 March Chadwell Heath Academy was honoured to host the Redbridge Regional Final of the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge.
  • Friday 18 March 2022 Football Activators Barclays GAME ON has been developed by the Youth Sport Trust (YST) in partnership with England Football. Barclays GAME ON is designed to engage girls in curriculum physical education through a life skills approach, using football as the vehicle.
  • Friday 10 December 2021 GCSE Drama Monologue project Year 10 GCSE Drama students recently completed a project with Papatango Theatre Company to learn about the art of writing a monologue.
  • Friday 12 November 2021 Remembrance Day The school marked Remembrance Day on the 11th of November. Head of Music, Mr Chapman, was accompanied by Ryan Baker-Morgan (Year 10), in sounding The Last Post at 11am. Pupils throughout the school observed a two minute silence in remembrance of those who have lost their lives in war.
  • Friday 22 October 2021 Visit from Sam Tarry MP On Wednesday 13th October, Ilford South MP, Mr Sam Tarry visited our Year 12 and 13 Government and Politics students. Mr Tarry spoke about what drove him to a career in politics, how he feels the government should have handled the pandemic differently and what is next for Ilford South. The pupils were left feeling inspired. There was an open Q&A at the end, where some fantastic questions were asked. These included; How he felt when challenging Rishi Sunak in the Houses of Parliament? If he would ever want to be PM? If it is tough to prioritise the views of his constituents over his own? And what is the toughest part of his job? It was a pleasure to host Mr Tarry, and our pupils gained an invaluable experience. We would like to thank Mr Tarry for joining us, and look forward to hosting him again.

  • Thursday 4 March 2021 World Book Day 2021 Today, Thursday 4 March, is World Book Day. To celebrate, staff at Chadwell Heath Academy have recorded a podcast featuring readings from some favourite books.
  • Thursday 17 December 2020 Food Bank Collection In the run up to Christmas the whole school completed a collection for the local foodbank situated in Chadwell Heath. We collected over 300 items from Year Seven alone and total of 30 boxes were filled with much needed long life foos and toiletries. In addition pupils donated Christmas presents, decorations, and Christmas cards.
