Head of Year: Mrs K McGee
I am very pleased to have this opportunity to write to you at the beginning of what will be an important year for the year group. It is a privilege to be able to continue to lead a promising cohort of pupils through success at Chadwell Heath Academy. The students are busy settling into their lessons and I am sure they will work hard to achieve the very best SATS results of which they are capable.
As a parent/guardian you also play an important role in the education of your child and your encouragement and involvement can help a child excel. I’m sure that you will agree that effective communication between home and school is one of the best ways to support students, and I hope that you will find the information below useful as we start the new year.

Year 9 Parents evening is scheduled for Tuesday 12th February 2019. It is extremely important that you attend this evening to not only have the opportunity to discuss your child’s progress with their subject teachers and to find out more about the courses available to your son/daughter in Upper School. This will be shown to you through the Options presentations that will be held in the drama studio.
As a parent may I remind you that you can access details of homework that has been set for your son/daughter via Show My Homework. If you are unable to login please do let us know. In addition, pupils are told to write down all of their homework into their planners, and parents are asked to check and sign these weekly.
If at any point you have queries regarding your son/daughters progress, please contact their subject teacher or form tutor in the first instance. However, please do not hesitate to contact me if you feel the matter should be passed directly to me and I will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible.
May I take this opportunity to thank you for your on-going support to ensure the very best for your son/daughter. I hope they enjoy the new challenges this year and participate in all the school has to offer. I wish them every success in their SATS results.
