Year 11

Head of Year: Mrs S Howard

I am delighted to introduce myself as the new Head of Year 11, and I welcome the students back with great optimism for what I hope to be an excellent year for all. It is a privilege to lead a wonderful cohort, full of potential, through their last year at Chadwell Heath Academy. It is incredible to think the GCSE examinations start in May 2024; I look forward to seeing their commitment to learning, high standards of behaviour, respect and kindness (to themselves and their peers) continue to blossom as we progress through the year.

Thank you for your on-going support to ensure the very best for your child. As you know, we set the highest of expectations at Chadwell Heath Academy. Our aim is to create a safe, happy and supportive learning environment, that opens up a multitude of opportunities for all to reach their potential and live a happy future. We appreciate your support and understanding by echoing the high expectations we require students to meet.

Year 11 can be an exciting, yet stressful, time for pupils, as they face their examinations and decisions about their futures. As a parent/guardian you play an important role in the education of your child; your encouragement, support and desire to work with us a team can help your child excel to their fullest potential. It is of the highest importance your child attends school every day, punctually, to ensure they are absorbing the vital information they need to succeed. You can access details of homework that has been set, and whether it has been submitted by your child, via Show My Homework. If you have any queries regarding your child’s progress within a subject, please contact their subject teacher directly. I am sure you will agree that effective communication between home and school is one of the best ways to care for students, and together we can we can help all pupils achieve greatness.

It is the aim and priority of myself and my pastoral team to ensure that all pupils in Year 11 maximise their potential and achieve success.  There are a variety of strategies, resources and systems in place to encourage and support pupils within the Year Group.  A range of engaging and enriching lessons, interventions, homework clubs and after school activities will give each pupil a first-class opportunity to succeed and be prepared for their next step in life.
